Our front door locks froze with the drop in temperature and we had no idea how to get the door open. We called Bears Lock & Key and Bear came right over and was able to get the door open and he discovered that our locks were misaligned with the door and also that our weather stripping was installed incorrectly causing the door to freeze. He was very methodical and was able to fix it! He was extremely helpful and kind and is the only locksmith we will call in the future. Thank you so much Bear!

I needed a new key fob for my car. One locksmith quoted me $285 and was rude when I refused to pay that. So gratuity for Bear's Lock and Key for being at an amazing price point of $90, was efficient, courtesy and responded to me immediately. Also, was willing to meet me at a neutral location which I was grateful for. Best person around if you need a key.

After being quoted $300+ for a new car key at the Subaru dealer, I contacted here. Extremely responsive, helpful, and knew his stuff and even gave me a few pointers. Met up with me & changed out my 2017 Subaru crosstrek key and it was $200+ less than what Subaru dealership quoted me. Only took about 30 mins total. Not bad for a grumpy bear 😉. We accidently locked ourselves out of the office at Zion Lutheran Church in Akron. I called Bear's Lock & Key at 8:30 am on a Saturday morning during a food distribution project that Zion conducts every month. The owner said he would be at the Church no later than 10:00 am. He was right on time and had our office opened in a matter of minutes. He didn't even charge us for his service since he said we were a Church helping to feed the hungry! The owner is very professional and extremely kind. I would recommend Bear's Lock & Key to anyone needing the services of a locksmith.

Very friendly, professional guy. when the full length lock in our French door broke, he came out and fixed it. Had to make FOUR trips (precise measurements required for the European-made part) and he was on time, almost to the minute each time! it seemed like a complex, challenging project to me but he confidently made it like (better than?) new. Also made a key and fob for my new Ford truck--seemed like another complex job to me, but he computer-linked into Ford from my driveway and got it done; much more reasonable than the dealer. Pleasant to talk to and he didn't charge enough for his labor on the French door lock. Very pleased and won't go any where else in the future.

Rarely ever take the time to post reviews, but this one deserves it. Had a short phone call with a few questions and the guy was so rude for no reason. I actually had to hang up the call just cause of this guy's tone just for asking him to clarify something. This guy needs to learn how to treat customers. EDIT: Instead of a simple apology which I would of then deleted the review. You respond with a holier than thou response. Asking one time to clarify my situation is 3 times? You literally got mad after I asked about the price and my situation once. Had you on speaker and even people listening to me talk was shocked how rude you acted. Enjoy the 1 star.

Fantastic service. Arrived just when said, opened door in a minute and was kind enough to make us two extra keys for free. Very nice gentleman. Followup 2021- I used Mr. Bear for a new property purchase rekey. He may come across a bit gruff at times but if you listen to him, he really does care- he offered suggestions that reduced his own bill, because he knew the most efficient way to rekey, when he could fix a lock vs replacing. The opposite of typical “upselling” by a repairman.

Bear's Lock & Key provided super service. I was locked out of my house and called them. They arrived shortly, in the amount of time they said. In about 5 minutes my door was unlocked! I would definitely recommend them to anyone.

Great experience with Bear. I have an older home that has an old mortise lock mechanism. The thumb turn was worn out and Bear was able to find the part and salvage the mechanism without having to replace the entire lock. He was prompt and on time. And most importantly knowledgeable and professional. Would highly recommend.

Bear came out the next day after I called and inquired about making a secondary key for a Lexus. He is very knowledgeable and professional. I found out he was a mobile service as well when I called so that made everything very convenient. He explained some things to me about the differences in the standard keys and flip keys. Which made me more confident in using the flip key as a replacement and I ended up asking for a extra key. Much better than using the dealerships and the prices. Go straight for the source and come to Bear for your needs. High quality, great experience, great price. ✓✓✓ Thank you so much for all of your help bear!

Courteous, prompt, and cheaper to rekey than to replace my locks. Will recommend to all my friends. Edit 2021: Used Bear again and still recommending him to friends. Rekeying 8 locks cost a little over $200, much cheaper than replacing them.

When locked out of your house with nothing on you don't call this person. Wouldn't help me because my ID was locked inside, cause people that break into somebody else's house always want a witness there I guess. smh. Got way better service elsewhere.

Called to have a key made for my Jeep. I was unaware this was a mobile service which just made it even more convenient! He came the very next day and made a duplicate very quickly despite a technical issue (with my Jeep, nothing he did wrong at all or anything) He was able to figure a way around the issue and successfully duplicated my key so I now have 2 working keys. He was extremely friendly and very accommodating and even taught me a thing or two about it and gave me a suggestion for another problem that potentially saved me a lot of money. I'd give him an extra star if I could and I would definitely recommend him to anyone in need of key/lock services.
